Pronoun 

A pronoun is a word that substitutes for a noun or noun phrase.

1. Subjective Pronoun 

A subjective pronoun acts as the subject of a sentence - it performs the action of the verb . The subjective pronouns are he , I , it, she , they , we , and you . Example : 

  • He is my friend 
  • We live in Surabaya . 
  • She is on holiday .

2. Objective Pronoun 

An objective pronoun acts as the object of a sentence - it receives the action of the verb . The objective pronouns are her , him , it , me , them , us , and you . Example : 

  • The bread is stale . You can feed it to the birds . 
  • Do you really like her
  • She is telling him a joke.
  • Can you help me please ? 
  • We saw them in town yesterday , but they didn't see us .

3. Possessive Pronoun 

Possessive pronouns and adjectives are two different ways to show possession in English . A possessive pronoun tells you who owns something. The possessive pronouns are hers , his , its , mine , ours , theirs , and yours . Possessive adjectives are my , your , his , her , its , our , your , and their . Example : 

  • The red basket is mine . Yours is on the coffee table . 
  • All the essays were good but his was the best . 
  • Here is your car . Ours is over there , where we left it .
  • I will get my bag . 
  • Why didn't you clean your room ?
